Three Definitive Reasons You NEED a Snow Blower This Winter

Posted by at 9:08 AM

It’s that time of year again. The temperatures have dropped and the snow has started falling…and it’s not going to stop. In fact, it’s going to do just the opposite. Ready for a fun fact? Upper Wisconsin averages more than 48 inches of snow per year. How are you going to get rid of it all?

Let’s get real. If your first thought isn’t “snow blower” then you’re probably starting to panic, but there’s no need to worry - Nelson’s Power House in Merrill, WI is your headquarters for all things snow blower this season.

We know, we know. Some of you are already scoffing. You don’t need a snow blower. You’ve got a snow shovel and, if that gets to be too tough, you’ll just hire it done. It’s cheaper anyways, right? Wrong.

Here are all of the reasons why you absolutely NEED a snow blower this winter.

It saves time.

This is the most obvious difference between using a snow blower and using a snow shovel.  On average, snow shoveling takes twice as long as snow blowing when it comes to significant snowfall. You already put your hours in at your job.  Save the rest for yourself. Tis the season to be…shoveling? We don’t think so.

It’s less work.

When you get right down to it, shoveling is basically exercise – tiring, straining, sometimes painful (but always mandatory) exercise.  Don’t get us wrong…we’re not knocking physical activity. In fact, we encourage it. Build snowmen. Make snow angels. Ski. Snowboard. Tube. They’re all great! But throw your back out just once while shoveling…and that’ll be it for activity this winter.

It saves money.

That’s right, we said save. As we mentioned above, upper Wisconsin averages more than 48 inches of snow per year. With snowfall like that, a snow blower in the upper Midwest pays for itself in just one year when compared to hiring the work done, according to Consumer Reports.  Now take into account the fact that an average lifespan of a snow blower is 10 years (double if it’s serviced properly). That means you’ll get 9 years of extra snow blowing…above and beyond the cost of the machine.

If that’s not enough to convince you then ask yourself this: How much is your time worth? How about your body? When taking these things into consideration the choice is clear.

Get yourself a snow blower from Nelson’s Power House and save time, effort, and money!
